Battle Pets
Battle pets are one type of companion available that your character can train and use in combat throughout your experience in Lucent Heart.
The [NPC] Beast Tamer can help you acquire your first Battle Pet, the Moonlight Frog. This little amphibian serves as the perfect starter pet. He has access to a unique frog only water based attack that deals magical damage against your enemies, and can also learn a variety of other abilities shared with other pets.
There are other vendors throughout the game that sell Battle Pets for various types of currency. There are also pets that have a rare chance to drop from specific monsters in Lucent Heart. Gunners will be able to acquire a Wolf pet which will serve as a companion for them throughout questing.

How to Level Your Battle Pet
Your battle pet gains experience as you do. With each monster you kill and each quest you turn in your Battle Pet will gain experience. Battle Pets do not steal experience from you either, meaning each time you complete a quest both you and your pet will earn the maximum amount of experience possible.
If your pet is having trouble holding its own in combat keep it nestled safely away in your inventory until you’ve finished questing. Before you turn in your quest summon it so that it can quickly catch up in level! This is a great way to level up your pet without putting it in harm’s way.

Teaching Combat Pets SkillsAs your Battle Pet gains levels you’ll be able to visit the [NPC] Beast Tamer to acquire new skills and upgrade existing skills for your pets. Be careful though! Pets can only learn a maximum of four abilities. Once you’ve picked four abilities you won’t be able to teach your pet anymore and you’ll only be able to rank up the skills already learned.
Combat pets are great for helping to fill in gaps with for your character. If you are a class that is designed to stay at range you can give your pet offensive and tanking abilities to help keep monsters away from you. If you are a tanking class, and need a little extra damage, you can teach your pet primarily offensive abilities, threat reduction abilities, and protection abilities. If you want a mana or health battery for your party you can teach your pet skills that allow you to transfer their health or mana to friendly allies. A Battle Pet always makes for a great addition to your team. |
Small Pets
Small pets are companions that follow your character and provide specific bonuses to their stats. Some small pets have passive or active skills that can help in combat. Small pets do not participate in fights like combat pets.
Details bonuses that are provided when the pet is summoned including stat increases and passive/active skills. Different pets provide different bonuses suitable for different classes.
These pets also require feeding. Summoning your pet and keeping it out with you as you adventure in Lucent Heart (Or even while you are just standing around) reduces its feed level which in turn allows you feed it for experience. Depending on the type of food you use, you can also change certain characteristics of your pet’s physical appearance. There are red, blue, and green pigment changing foods that can be mixed and matched to create a unique color look for your small pet. Basic pet food can be purchased from the [NPC] Beast Tamer. Gift handlers also provide pet food for purchase at the cost of one of Lucent Hearts alternative currencies. Some food also gives your pet experience points, the higher your pets level the greater the bonuses received from having your pet summoned.
